The story behind The Mediterranean Way
I grew up in a small village in Crete where my family has lived for centuries. My yiayia and mother taught me that food is love, and the Mediterranean way isn’t a diet—it’s how people have eaten for thousands of years.
Olive oil, vegetables from the garden, fresh fish, wild greens, beans, whole grains, and wine with family. This is how we lived. At 28, I moved to America to open a restaurant. I was shocked by how sick Americans seemed despite wealth and modern medicine. Heart disease, diabetes, obesity—rare in my village.
I realized it was the food.
I’ve spent 25 years teaching Americans that Mediterranean eating isn’t about following rules or counting anything—it’s about simple, fresh ingredients, sharing meals, and enjoying life. My approach is traditional, unpretentious, and proven by generations of healthy, long-lived ancestors.
The Blue Zones know something we forgot. Come, let me show you.
